Loneliness - The top Killer (Part II)

I believe many of people with disabilities suffer from loneliness, no matter where are they living and especially those are on wheelchair. Loneliness is always connected to the word, freedom. As I mentioned in previous articles, we, people with disabilities need freedom in order to chase of our love and dreams.

It is quite sad and lonely to spend six days per week at home. Although I am doing my final thesis, I feel the loneliness. It seems like killing me. But what shall I do?

Actually, freedom is not only matter of going around but it is also the matter how one thinks and acts. When one’s thinking is limited, one feels lonely. As I mentioned in my paragraph, my loneliness comes from my fear and frustration. This may happens to other people with disabilities. We feel lonely because of the limitation, discrimination and rejection.

There were lots of unpleasant experience in my life, I have been rejected and ignored by many people. You may say everyone has this same experience. What if someone ignores you when you greet “Good Morning” to someone or your college lecturer ignores you when you just ask for assignment question? And what about if someone says “Stop talking, I don’t understand your speech at all so I can’t be your friend!” The worst experience is some people just utter irresponsible words such as “Why is she doing her Degree in Computer Systems Engineering? Waste the money of her parents.” Although I am old enough to handle these words, they still upset me. It is hard for me to gain back my confidence to ask and to comment in the public places.

I wouldn’t be “Long-winded” on this article. Perhaps I enjoy being isolated at this moment.
